Part I: Long Time, No See
Hello! Please allow us to welcome you back to Creamline. And if you’re new here, you’re just in time. It’s been over a year since our last letter, and we (Taylore and Christine) have been busy. We remain busy, but we’ve also decided it’s finally time to get back to what we do best: waxing poetic about frivolous things in a shared doc we send to strangers.
Of course, just because something’s deemed frivolous doesn’t make it unimportant. Fun or femme-coded things are all-too-often dismissed as silly, and the pendulum has now swung so far towards seriousness that there’s literally now a book (and accompanying TED Talk) on why having fun is good for you.
Our hobbies and respective areas of expertise may be dismissable as brainless or extraneous, but whether we’re talking face cream and chèvre, poems and mascarpone, or fragrance and espresso, we’re fucking enjoying ourselves. And we hope that moving forward with Creamline, we’ll bring some enjoyment to you, too.
A few things we’ve been up to:
TG: I made the jump to drinks editorial and have been VinePair’s senior editor for almost a year now — which is why I won't be writing about booze in these letters. I moved to Brooklyn; I got engaged. I’ve been cooking a ton, sleeping a little, and falling back in love with (most things) beauty after a much-needed break.
CC: Lots of little cooking projects, some travel, continuing perfume hyperfixation, growing dahlias in my community garden plot, and working part-time on the pastry team at Honey Road. A good year!
Going forward, subscribers can expect two jam-packed letters a month. We’ve also decided to switch our subscription model to a paid one, which will allow us the resources to continue to build this cute little community. Paid subscribers get anything we write or create under the Creamline umbrella, and unpaid subscribers get a healthy preview of each letter. Everything written before this point will remain accessible to all, but new content will be behind a paywall.
We so appreciate the support we’ve had from everyone over the past years, and are thrilled to deepen our commitment to sharing more frivolity with you. Got a question or suggestion? DM us on Instagram.
Behind today’s paywall: the chilis, grits, niche French perfume, and witchy herbal tea we’re loving.
